Whats a good guitar brand for just over intermediate player?

Hey guys, I'm looking at getting another electric guitar, to upgrade
from my samick. I'm just over intermediate skill level and i want a
guitar that sounds clean, and one that i can play a bit of rock on and
normal playing at the same time. Also get one that is a heavy metal
grey.. and the shape of a greg bennett interceptor??

I can spend around $600.
