Shaw then kills Hendry, exposing himself as Schmidt and demonstrating the vitality-absorbing mutant energy which has de-aged him. MacTaggert, seeking Xavier's recommendation on mutation, introduces him and Raven to the Central intelligence agency, at which they convince Director McCone that mutants exist and Shaw is a threat.
